Do you collect diecast model cars, model trucks, aircraft or any resin or die cast replica? Then The Diecast Magazine is definitely for you.
Welcome to Issue 22, the December 2013 edition. Gracing the front cover of Issue 22 is the beautifully produced CMC 1/18 scale diecast model of the #25 1969 Ferrari 312P spyder driven to victory at Sebring by Mario Andretti. This model is also featured with the sensational 1/18 scale diecast model car of the 1975 Alfa Romeo 33 TT 12 produced by AUTOart. Check out these two Italian stallions side by side, but only in Issue 22 of The Diecast Magazine.
But that isn’t all; Issue 22 of The Diecast Magazine also takes a look at some home-grown heroes with Auto World’s 1/18 scale die cast replicas of three recently released ‘Legends of the Quarter Mile’: the ‘Fighting Irish’, ‘USA-1’, and ‘King Cobra’ NHRA Funny Cars. TrueScale Miniatures allows us a sneak peak at their upcoming diecast model releases of a pair 1:18 scale Lotus 78s: the #5 1977 Andretti launch version, and the #6 1978 South African GP winner driven by Ronnie Peterson. And for some memories of a time long gone, Dick Browne takes us on a journey in 1/43 scale of some collectible DeSotos capturing replicas from the company’s final years of production.
From an international perspective, you mustn’t miss the in-depth interview with president of Matrix Scale Models, Mr Jaap van Dijk; or the pictorial review of the Auto e Moto d’Epoca held recently in Padova, Italy. There’s also a wonderful article titled ‘From Russia with Love’, which concentrates on a few 1/43 scale die cast replicas from behind the ‘iron curtain’; and we also take a look at some old British Ford models from the ’50s and ’60s.
There’s plenty more variety within Issue 22 of The Diecast Magazine. Notably, ‘Diecast Diary’, in which AUTOart’s President Mr. Jimmy Yee explains some of the considerations that need to be remembered when producing a resin model car, and the differences when compared to production of a diecast metal model of the same subject. If you are looking for hard and heavy replicas, you will enjoy the Conrad diecast model of the 1/50 scale Terex AC1000-9 Mobile Crane.
We also take a look at a pair of 1/18 scale Minichamps Red Bull Racing Formula 1 Renault-powered cars, Oxford Diecast’s 1/43 scale 1967-1975 Lotus Elan Plus 2 Coupe, and of course who couldn’t go past the 1:18 scale Auto World The Dukes of Hazzard ‘Daisy’ Plymouth without a second look?
As always, in every issue of The Diecast Magazine, ‘Shop Talk’ features all the latest news and new releases from around the world, while collectors have their say in the ‘Readers’ Page’, and share their collections with us in ‘Collectors’ Post’.
Issue 22 of The Diecast Magazine rounds off its brilliant variety of balanced in-depth editorial content with our extremely popular ‘how-to’ section titled ‘Diecast Surgery’ with ‘Dr’ Rob Smith, and of course the all-important ‘What’s Hot Online’ which lists many of the notable secondary market trades since release of the previous issue.
Needless to say, Issue 22 of The Diecast Magazine takes first prize for a diecast model magazine and has the ‘diecast X factor’ as the best magazine for the serious diecast model collector.
Issue 22 will be available until March 16, 2014 at select diecast model dealers throughout North America, as well as Barnes & Noble bookstores, and select Hastings and Waldenbooks stores, as well as Indigo bookstores throughout Canada.
